I actually wanted to like this. I saw this at E3 last year and it sounded interesting. They implied that things that happened in the game would would affect things in the show. Sounded cool. I to get into it because I wanted to be part of a fandom. I'm not really a serious fan of anything.
I would watch the show every week, then go to the website to read the extras. Because I guess thats what fans do. Eventually I realized there wasn't really a plot. I know there are some shows that have a general "over story", and then there are thing that happen inside the story. But I haven't found out what the over story is. I don't understand anyone's motivation. Nolan decided to live in Defiance to be a law keeper. That alien-ginger cat girl randomly hangs out with him, but some times she hates him. And then fan service. A lot. Its annoying. I can tell they were afraid of people not liking this, but unfortunately I don't even like this fan service.
As far as the game goes... just mediocre. I regret buying it full price. Its an MMORPG (or just a MMO? or just a multi-player? I don't know the difference.). I hate games like that. I hate other people being there when I'm trying to play video games. I could make an entire post about this, but long story short, I like to be alone. There is a main story and a bunch of side quests. There is a random event called an "ark fall" where everyone comes together to fight ground aliens and win prizes.
For some reason I haven't played the game or watched the show in a while. Well yeah I do know, I just wrote it all above. I think I'll give them both another chance, but I still know I won't be a huge fan.
