Considering a Capsule Wardrobe (or something)

I never really understood what a capsule wardrobe was. I thought it was something only fashion elite did. I thought you had to buy a whole new wardrobe of 100 pieces each month. I'm sure some people do that, but I'm liking this definition buy un-fancy. She defines it as a 37 piece wardrobe for each season. The idea appeals to me because I'm the type of person who has a lot of clothes, but really just wears the same thing everyday (jeans and a t-shirt). I think having a select wardrobe will make me aware of what I have and feel more inclined to wear them. Also as you know I'm going off to college soon and will be living in a dorm, and I feel like its really convenient to build a new wardrobe.
Of course I'll tell you all bout it when it starts coming together.
Side note: One thing that stresses out the perfectionist in me is that she suggests planning your wardrobe 2 weeks before the new season and obviously switching over for the new season. Summer is June-Aug an Fall is Sept-Nov. I start school on the second week of August, meaning that I need my new wardrobe before the old season is up. I guess I'll just do fall 2 weeks early, but again that bothers me. I'm thinking about letting myself have 40 items to make the transition a little better.
