The Longest Journey

I started playing The Longest Journey last week. I had it on my wish list for a while because it looked interesting, but last week it was on sale so I took the plunge.
This game came out in 1999 so the graphics are... lacking. At first it was weird to play, but I got use to it. Some things are really weird looking, like the fact that Charlie doesn't have any facial features, but that's okay.
I'm 99% sure this is called a point and click game, which is cool. I don't think they make games in that genre any more. Must new games are first person shooter/ action. So this came is a nice change.
My only complaint, which  happens in almost every puzzle game, is that some of the puzzles seem impossible. I'm trying not to look up guides to often, because I consider it cheating, but I have done so twice. The solutions are always like, "how was I suppose to know that?" or "why would I even look there?". Oh well. I have solved some puzzles, and it made me feel so awesome.
Another thing I really like about this game it that there is a story line and actual characters (you know with personalities and features, not just "that guy"). That's another feature of old games that is unfortunately dying out.
I'm only on chapter 2, but I would really recommend this game. Its old, so it's probably cheap where ever you look.
